DWI: The impact of one drink

On Behalf of | May 2, 2019 | Criminal Law, DWI

dwi legal limit

In one of our previous DWI articles, we discussed what BAC, or Blood Alcohol Concentration is. We even talked about the legal limit of BAC (0.08%). But to get to that legal limit, what does it take?

DUI.drivinglaws.org includes four factors: “your gender, the number of drinks you’ve had, the time you’ve been drinking, and your weight”.

We included some charts, courtesy of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

One drink counts as any of the following: 1.5 oz of 40% alcohol (liquor), 12 oz of beer, or 5 oz of wine.

We never encourage one drop of alcohol while driving. Our intention with these charts is to bring awareness to the impact that alcohol has on driving performance.

We hope that you’ll never get into a DUI/DWI situation. But if you do, we hope you will reach out. We understand that your legal matter is important to you, so it’s important to us. Give Taylor Fontenot and the Southern Oaks Law Firm a call today at 337-704-7255.
