The Millenial Prenup: Playing It Safe
It’s important to play it In this day and age, almost everybody has heard of a prenup. What is it, exactly?
A prenup, or prenuptial agreement is “written contract created by two people before they are married. A prenup typically lists all of the property each person owns (as well as any debts) and specifies what each person’s property rights will be after the marriage.”
The term “millennial” has been used increasingly in the last few years. For the sake of this article, we’re referring to those now aged 21 to 36, born in the early 80s until the mid 90s.
The economy is much different now than it was a few decades ago. This generation is overall getting married later than previous generations did. Student loans and other debt are much higher as well. With getting married later, millennials also have more time to build up assets.
With all of these factors in mind and with more requests for prenups in recent years, so is born the rise of the millennial prenup.
